Michigan Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA) PolicyThis policy outlines our The Phillip Charles Group%u2019s compliance with the Michigan Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA), ensuring employees have access to earned sick time for qualifying reasons, as required by law. All employees are eligible to accrue paid sick time. Employees will accrue one (1) hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked. Sick time will begin accruing on an employee%u2019s first day of employment but cannot be accessed until after 120 days of employment. Accrual: %u2022 Employees will accrue earned sick time at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hoursworked.%u2022 Accrual begins on the employee's first day of employment.%u2022 Employees may accrue up to 72 hours of earned sick time.%u2022 Unused earned sick time may be carried over to the next benefit year, up to the maximumaccrual limit.%u2022 At the end of employment, The Phillip Charles Group does not provide compensation for anyunused earned sick time, without regard to whether employment has ended due to resignation,involuntary termination or otherwise.120-Day Waiting Period:%u2022 New employees hired on or after February 21, 2025, are required to wait 120 calendar daysafter their first day of employment before using accrued earned sick time.%u2022 During this 120-day period, employees will continue to accrue earned sick time but cannot useit until the 121st day.Carried Over Time Policy for Field Employees:%u2022 Field employees who successfully complete an assignment with The Phillip Charles Group andexperience a lapse in employment of less than six (6) months will retain the right to use theircarried-over time. This applies as long as the break in employment does not exceed six (6)months.%u2022 If the lapse in employment extends beyond six (6) months, any unused carried-over time willbe forfeited and will not be available for future use upon reemployment.
